摘要
As a diverse group of bioactive liposoluble sterol derivatives, vitamin D is mediated by vitamin D receptor. Vitamin D regulates the balance of calcium and phosphorus in bone and coordinates the relationship between osteoblasts and osteoclasts. Mounting evidence has indicated that vitamin D deficiency is closely correlated with the occurrence and healing of fractures in children. Vitamin D is involved in regulating fracture mechanism and affecting normal bone density. Its deficiency may cause bone loss and eventually result in an elevated incidence of fractures in children. This article reviews recent advances in vitamin D deficiency and childhood fractures and provides new thoughts for preventing and treating childhood fractures.
