Combined experimental and theoretical studies on a phenyl thiadiazole-based novel turn-on fluorescent colorimetric Schiff base chemosensor for the selective and sensitive detection of Al 3+

A phenyl thiadiazole based receptor ( L ) has been presented for fluorescent colorimetric detection of Al 3+ ion with very low detection limit in aqueous medium. The probe L can be applied for logic gate formation, recovery of contaminated water samples and smart-phone based analysis.
