摘要
Although monitoring of oxygen tension with polarographic methods has been used widely for many years, there are numerous problems associated with in-vivo measurements. Some of these problems include protein poisoning of the microelectrode and possible probe-induced tissue trauma. This paper discusses a carbon fiber microelectrode designed to circumvent several of these problems. In-vivo measurements obtained with the carbon fiber microelectrodes are shown and are compared to those obtained with conventional gold wire microelectrodes.
