摘要
Signal processing is an important element of any structural health monitoring system. The paper addresses the importance of intelligent signal processing for damage identification in composite materials. After an initial discussion as to what constitutes the overall signal processing, a number of examples of damage detection in composite materials are presented for illustration. These include: data denoising techniques, feature extraction and selection, pattern recognition and optimal sensor location procedures.
