Objective To explore the effects of celery seed powder on blood lipid parameters and liver function. Methods 50 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into 5 groups:normal feed group, high fat feed group.Celery seed powder group at the dose of 1.0,2.0,3.0 g/(kg·bw) administered intragastrically.30 days later, the serum total cholesterol(TC),triglycerides(TG),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),alanine transaminase(ALT),aspertate transaminase(AST) content are determined. Results The serum TC,TG and LDL-C in 2.0 g/kg and 3.0 g/kg group were significantly lower,HDL-C had no change,ALT,AST content were significantly declined compared with those in model group. Conclusion Celery seed powders have certain regulatory effect on blood lipid and liver function.
