Clinical Evaluation of Using Porcelain Laminate Veneer to Close the Anterior Tooth Space

Objective To evaluate the 2 years clinical effect of using porcelain laminate veneer to close the anterior tooth space.Methods Porcelain laminate veneer was applied to 78 teeth of 32 patients.The restorative reasons included congenital tooth missing,malformation tooth,tooth defect,and the anterior tooth space caused by other reasons.The 75 teeth were evaluated before and after luting in 2 weeks and 6 to 24 months.Results 75 porcelain laminate veneers were intact.little wane existed in 2 veneers at the incisal area.During the follow up examination,obvious inflammation was found in 2 teeth.1tooth with veneers showed inconsistent colour match with their adjacent teeth.No secondary caries and unsatisfactory scores were recorded for marginal adaptation.Conclusion The two years research shows that applying porcelain laminate veneer to repair anterior teeth space has an excellent clinical performance and it can be easily accepted by patients.
