Progress in synthesis of alpha-lipoic acid and derivatives

α-Lipoic acid is a kind of important compound with a lot of biological activation existing widely in the organism.The recent developments of the synthetic methods of α-lipoic acid,(R)-α-lipoic acid and its derivatives are reviewed,and then the development direction of these methods were indicated.
