Chemistry, thermodynamics and kinetics of reactions of sulphur in coal-gas reactions: A review

An overview of the fundamental reactions of the sulphur-containing groups in coal during pyrolysis and gasification is presented. The available experimental data on the redistribution of the sulphur (ROS) among the gaseous, liquid, and solid products of the reactions are discussed. Then, an attempt is made to draw general conclusions with regard to the effect, of the variables of the reaction systems, on the sulphur content of the products of the reactions.
