ChemInform Abstract: 4‐(1,4‐Benzoquinonyl‐2)‐1,4‐dihydropyridines as Analogues of Nifedipine.

Abstract Condensation reaction of the aldehyde (I) with the aminocyclohexenone (II) and subsequent deprotection of the phenolic hydroxy groups yield the decahydroacridinedione (III) which is oxidized with Ag2O to form the quinones (IV) or (V) depending on the amount of oxidant employed.
