Using the full-vector plane-wave method,analyzed are the photonic bandgap and modal properties of the bandgap-type photonic crystal fiber with a triangular lattice cladding.Making use of the fabricated bandgap-type photonic crystal fiber,the influence of the interstitial holes on the photonic bandgap is analyzed and the spectrum range of photonic bandgap is calculated.According to the theory calculation,it is found that the interstitial holes broden the main bandgap and produce a new hypo-bandgap.With choosing suitable structure parameters,a bandgap-type photonic crystal fiber with single model property can be achieved.
