Advances in the diagnosis and treatment of Lynch syndrome

Lynch syndrome is the most common hereditary syndrome that predisposes patients to colorectal cancer.It accounts for 2% ~ 5% of the total roll of colorectal cancers.Lynch syndrome is defined as a hereditary predisposition to colorectal and certain other malignancies as a result of a germline mismatch repair(MMR) gene mutation.Lynch syndrome includes both individuals with an existing cancer and those who have not yet developed cancer.This review focuses on the advances in the diagnosis and treatment of Lynch syndrome.
