There is a long time debate about effectiveness of cognitive-behavior therapy in patients with panic disorder and agoraphobia. That influenced a necessity to summarize the results of clinical studies that study this domain. The aim of this article is to review the studies that examined total effectiveness of cognitive-behavior therapy in patients with panic disorder and agoraphobia. The article is created by the investigation of medical databases and specific literature that study cognitive-behavior therapy in patients with panic disorder and agoraphobia. This review analyzes only the results of clinical studies, without review publications. The results of clinical studies that examined effectiveness of cognitive-behavior therapy in patients with panic disorder and agoraphobia suggest that carefully used cognitive-behavior therapy generate the remission of significant number of patients. That means that cognitive-behavior therapy produce the significant reduction of panic attacks, the significant reduction of anticipatory anxiety and the significant reduction of agoraphobia and all of this results with the increase of quality of patients life. On the basis of those results, it seems that cognitive-behavior therapy could be the first choice therapy in patients with panic disorder and agoraphobia.
