摘要
Amino acids are recently emerging as potential biomarkers of neurological and kidney diseases such as Alzheimer's, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and Chronic Kidney Disease. The rising global prevalence of these disorders is making it increasingly essential to develop tools for rapid, direct and accurate amino acid quantification. In this talk, we will discuss the development of amino acid detecting enzymatic electrochemical biosensors and their applications health research. More specifically, the characterization of three different enzymes (Yeast D-amino acid oxidase, Human D-amino acid oxidase, and Glycine oxidase) and their development into biosensors will be presented.We will also explore the practical application of these biosensors for extensive use in answering fundamental neuroscience questions and their potential for implementation as a clinical diagnostic tool.
