Selenation of 2‐Hydroxyphenyl Enaminones with Se Powder to Generate ArSe‐subsituted Chromone Derivatives

Abstract A simple and efficient selenylation/cyclization of 2‐hydroxyphenyl enaminones towards the synthesis of ArSe‐subsituted chromone derivatives has been realized. This reaction is performed with selenium powder and aromatic iodides together in one‐pot under simple conditions, good yields of target products were obtained. Furthermore, the reaction can be also extended to sulfenylation/cyclization of 2‐hydroxyphenyl enaminones via using sulfur powder, demonstrating its wide application scope.
