摘要
Nanomaterials are materials that have at least one dimension between 1 and 100 nanometers. The physical and chemical properties of these nanostructures are diverse. Nanomaterials with remarkable magnetic, electrical, optical, mechanical, and catalytic capabilities can be manufactured. Controlling the size, shape, synthesis, and functionalization conditions can change or improve these properties. As a result, the properties of these nanomaterials are greatly influenced by synthesis methods such as top-down, bottom-up, chemical, biological, and mechanical processes. Nanoparticles are utilized in the field of corrosion inhibition to account for the unique characteristics of material-medium systems. This chapter aims to present some basic information on nanomaterials, the many types of nanoparticles utilized for corrosion inhibition, the procedures used to make them, and the methods used to research and quantify this inhibition.
