Fossil fuels are the main source availed for transportations and industrial applications. The demand for fossil fuels increased due to high utilization in transportation and industrial development. Biodiesel is the ultimate source to overcome the rising demand for conventional fuels. Biodiesel is produced from various sources with different types of catalysts. Economic analysis is very important for sustainable biodiesel production. This chapter briefly discusses the economic feasibility of biodiesel synthesis from nonedible oil using a catalyst. In biodiesel production, various unit operations and methodology are used but the sustainable process design is optimized by techno-economic analysis (TEA). The techno-economic analysis provides a budget estimation of the plant scale-up, operation, labor, electricity, waste generation, revenue and payback period. The sustainable process of biodiesel production is dependent on various elements such as affordable feedstock, catalyst, short reaction period, high conversion rate, easy separation, etc. Previous studies of TEA of biodiesel production in the presence of different feedstock and catalysts are discussed in this chapter.
