A REGIOSELECTIVE COUPLING REACTION OF ALLYL PYRIDYL ETHERS WITH GRIGNARD REAGENTS

Abstract A regioselective coupling reaction of Grignard reagents with allyl pyridyl ethers in the presence of MgBr2 is reported. Grignard reagents reacted easily with primary allyl ethers to afford C-1 alkylated products (SN2 reaction), and also reacted with secondary and tertiary allyl ethers to afford C-3 alkylated products (SN2′ reaction).
