Research progress on chemical constituents and pharmacological activities of Portulaca oleracea L.

Objective To review research progress in the chemical constituents,processing of the chemical constituents'accumulation and the pharmacologic action of Portulaca oleracea L.and provide a reference for the further research and development of Portulaca oleracea L.Methods Based on the literature about Portulaca oleracea L.at home and abroad,the constituents and the pharmacologic action were reviewed respectively.Results The Portulaca oleracea L.contained many kinds of chemical constituents,primarily including organic acids,flavonoids,terpenoids,coumarins,alkaloids.They were proved to have antibiotic,antivirus,antitumor,decreasing blood lipids,hypoglycemic and anti-aging activities.Conclusions Portulaca oleracea L.is used in clinic for it′s antibiotic,antivirus,antitumor activities,however,it is seldom used for it′s decreasing blood lipids,hypoglycemic and anti-aging activities.Portulaca oleracea L.has extensive perspective in application and can be studied systematically.
