Extraction and GC/MS Analysis of Volatile Oil from Polygonum Cuspidatum

Orthogonal design of 4 factors at 3 levels was applied for hydrodistillation method of volatile oil from Polygonum Cuspidatum.The optimal condition of extracuion was the medicinal materials being dipped in 7 times water for 4 h and then distilled 12 h by vapor.The volatile oil was analyzed by GC/MS,and twenty compounds were identified.The main components in the oil of Polygonum Cuspidatum included thiophenes(38.09 %),phenanthrenes(4.78%),fluorenes(3.81%),biphenyls(3.47%),anthracenes(2.92%) and naphthalenes(2.27%).
