CATALYTIC ISOMERIZATION OF α-Pinene

A new homogenous isomerization system for α-Pinene to produce α-terpinene,limonene,γ-terpinene and terpinolene has been developed in the present paper.The effects of reaction conditions e.g.solvents,catalysts,the dosage of catalyst,reaction temperature and time on the conversion and selectivity have been investigated.The results showed that α-Pinene can been isomerized with high conversion and selectivity while phosphomolybdic acid(PMA) was applied as catalyst.
