Research on Whisker Toughening Mechanism for Coposites

In this paper,a whisker toughening mecanism for composites is introduced.Toughening mechanism mainly involves crack deflection,crack bridging,whisker pullout.The effects of interfacial characteristic,properties of whisker and matrix on mechanism have been discussed.Finally the trend of research is prospected.\;
