The Generation of Hydroxyl Radical in Advanced Oxidation Processes

The characteristics and the chemical reactions of the hydroxyl radical in water, the reaction pathways leading to the generation of ·OH in advanced oxidation process, O_3/UV,O_3/H_2O_2,H_2O_2/UV,UV/O_3/H_2O_2,H_2O_2/Fe~(2+)(Fenton's reagent),H_2O_2/Fe~(2+)/UV, Electro-Fenton and heterogeneous photoatalysis oxidation have been reviewed in this paper.
