Tetracoordinate boron compounds are useful as reagents and materials in organic synthesis. Unique substituent effects of tetracoordinate boron induce various interesting reactions by stabilize or activate reactive intermediates, such as cations, radicals, and conjugation systems. Such reactions offer useful methods for synthesis of novel organoboron compounds. For more information, see the review by Taniguchi on page 3(DOI: 10.1002/chem.202104333).
