Acoustic horns have been validated for electroacoustic vector sensor signal amplification. The present paper shows the application of acoustic horns for fiber optic vector hydrophone (FOVH) underwater signal amplification experimentally. Numerical simulation model based on COMSOL 5.6 software package was also built for theoretical estimation and optimization. The acoustic horn, with optimized high-order curved surface, proved to be more effective than cone horn that of the same size. Signal amplification on three orthogonal axes was measured simultaneously by a self-developed FOVH sensing and testing system. Orthogonal crosstalk is small below the horn's first resonance and only the signal will be amplified when its direction parallel to the axis of horn.
