摘要
Adsorption is the separation process of guest molecules from the environment to the bulk or surface of the solid or liquid phase. The unique features of adsorption, such as low cost and ease of operation coupled with high efficiency, render it superior among other separation and purification techniques such as photoremediation, membrane technology, ion exchange, and electrochemical separation. In this chapter, at first, we introduced the fundamental of the adsorption and desorption process along with various types of adsorption, then we outlined the parameters that control the adsorption progress. Finally, the common adsorption isotherms and kinetics equations with different numbers of coefficients were reviewed.
