摘要
Global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) are primarily intended for navigation. For applications in which safety is critical, such as aviation, GNSS must be augmented to provide the safety monitoring and alerting functions in real time. Ionospheric scintillation can pose an interruption of navigation service for the individual user, if not the service provider. This chapter reviews the criteria of accuracy, integrity, continuity, and availability for navigation performance; effects of scintillation on stand-alone GNSS receiver processing; and effects on the navigation service performance of space-based and ground-based augmentation systems for aviation.
