Trinuclear scandium methylidyne complexes stabilized by pentamethylcyclopentadienyl ligands

Scandium methylidyne complex [(Cp*)Sc(μ₂-OMe)]₃(μ₃-CH), free of Lewis acids, can be achieved in high yield, and shows the flexibility to incorporate organic substrates by insertion into the Sc–C(methylidyne) bond.
