摘要
To provide meaningful implications for the coffee industry and academia, this study seeks to identify the effect of baristas’ job esteem on their job satisfaction and to empirically examine whether employment types have moderating effects on the way job esteem affects job satisfaction. The results of the empirical analysis, which is based on the research model and the hypothesis proposed in this study, may be summarized as follows.BR First, an empirical analysis of the effects of three sub-factors of job esteem on job satisfaction indicates that one’s own positive perception of his/her job has the greatest impact on job satisfaction, and negative treatment at work adversely affects job satisfaction. However, it has been shown that the relative benefits of a job do not affect job satisfaction.BR Second, an examination of the moderating effects of employment types (permanent versus temporary employment) on the way that job esteem affects job satisfaction has revealed that moderating effects are found only in terms of one’s own positive perception of his/her job affecting job satisfaction. On the other hand, it has been shown that employment types have no moderating effects in terms of the relative benefits of the job or negative treatment at work affecting job satisfaction.
