Research on pressure filter and dewatering process for clean coal

Aiming at the problem of high moisture, high energy consumption, and being hard to dewater in coal flotation, a new type of pressure filter as well as dewatering technique was developed. The mechanism of dewatering the filter cake by all means was introduced. The influence of concentration and sizes of fed coal material, the diaphragm of both single and double faces, and ways of applying pressure on the dewatering was analysed. The result shows that the new compressive filter is fast in compressive filtering, low in the water content of the filter cake, convenient in operation, and significant in energy saving. So it has a broad application prospect in the compressive filtering dewatering of coal slime, flotation clean coal, and tailings. 4 refs., 2 figs., 5 tabs.
