Study on procreation and mammary gland of Yuyi hairless mice

Aim:To study how the hairless gene affects the lactation ability of female hairless mice.Methods:The female hairless mice were crossed with male KM mice.The birth times and pregnancy were compared with those of normal mice.Results:The ovary and the mammary gland of hairless mice were normal,but the lactation different,and only 30% hairless mice were normal.Compared with hairy mice,the hairless neonates had a higher death rate(74.6%～100%). Conclusion:Being hairless may be the reason for lower lactation amount and procreation rate of hairless mice.
