The essential oil composition ofMarrubiumastracanicum Jacq. from Iran

The composition of the essential oil obtained from the dried flowering aerial parts of Marrubium astracanicum Jacq. (Labiatae) was analyzed by GC and GC-MS. Fifty-nine components have been identified in the essential oil of M. astracanicum. The major constituents of the essential oil were methylcyclopentane (15.5%), thymol (10.6%) and n-heptane (7.4%).
