The working principle is introduced for a new permanent magnet biased radial magnetic bearing in magnetic suspending flywheel.The radial magnetic bearing is analyzed and calculated by using equivalent magnetic circuit.The design method based on displacement stiffness and current stiffness is presented for the bearing,in which the relationship between electromagnetic parameters and controller parameters is considered.The steps of the design method are also introduced in detail.In the last,an example is given,which is simulated and calculated by using magnetic circuit and finite element analysis.The theory analysis shows that the design results are in agreement with the experimental results.
