Wound healing is a complex physiological process that involves restoring damaged tissue integrity. Despite advancements in wound care, managing chronic and non-healing wounds remains a significant challenge in modern healthcare. This study proposes to enhance wound healing using a combination of a biocompatible gauze bandage and a polyacrylamide (PAM) hydrogel dressing.The biocompatible gauze bandage acts as a scaffold for wound healing, providing mechanical support and facilitating the exchange of oxygen and nutrients between the wound bed and surrounding environment. The PAM hydrogel dressing offers unique properties such as excellent water absorption capacity, biocompatibility, and maintaining a moist wound environment. In vitro and in vivo experiments demonstrated the efficacy of the biocompatible gauze bandage and PAM hydrogel dressing in promoting wound healing. The PAM hydrogel dressing exhibited high water retention capacity, ensuring a moist environment conducive to wound healing. The combination of the biocompatible gauze bandage and PAM hydrogel dressing demonstrated excellent biocompatibility, with no adverse reactions or infections observed. The dressing was found to remain stable for 15 days and then disintegrate.
