摘要
Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) breakthroughs have triggered a fundamental shift in the fashion industry worldwide. This in-depth investigation examines the multiple effects of AI and ML on the fashion ecosystem, emphasizing their impact on design, production, consumer experience and sustainability. Based on a thorough analysis of relevant academic literature, case studies, this study sheds light on the disruptive potential and practical uses of AI and ML in the fashion business. We find that the fashion industry's traditionally labour-intensive and creative design phase is undergoing a seismic shift owing to AI-powered tools that facilitate ideation, pattern generation, and trend monitoring. This study also underscores the ethical and environmental considerations arising from the infusion of technology into the fashion industry, spotlighting issues like algorithmic bias, data privacy, and ecological impact. It emphasizes the imperative for ethical AI deployment. The study provides essential insights for industry experts, regulators, and researchers, paving the path for a more informed and conscientious approach to fashion's future in the AI era. This study contributes to a more nuanced knowledge of the opportunities and challenges ahead by developing a framework for ethical and sustainable AI use in the fashion industry.
