Combined approaches and semisynthesis

Abstract It has been convenient to introduce the solution and solid phase approaches separately in the last two chapters. For the most part, they have been practised separately and exclusively too, but combined approaches are also possible, and we have yet to deal with partial or semisynthesis starting with fragments of biological origin, as opposed to the total synthesis of the conventional strategies.
