摘要
Agricultural livelihoods, especially, are in danger, and the problems of food scarcity are evident so clearly that most of the farmers today are directly influenced by the very changes occurring in their fields. Thus, it is now the critical time for the global community to initiate new policies and develop adaptive measures as a response to the recent global environmental/climate changes and patterns. The climate-resilient crop types are capable of withstanding and flourishing under difficult environmental conditions that are caused by the prevailing weather patterns and the unrelenting extreme events that accompany the changes in the climate. Farmers are able to guarantee a stable and regular food supply through the creation of resilient and even contrasting variances, which can remain unaffected under these uncertain circumstances. The consequences of climate change have become more evident recently in the agricultural industry all over the world. The food production from agricultural lands has been considerably limited by the extreme weather events caused by climate change, such as droughts and floods, which lead to food shortages and famine as a result. Therefore, shifting to growing crop types that can withstand the destabilized environment is vital if we want to address these problems. One of the main benefits of climate-resilient crop types is that they can easily adapt to the changing production environment. Experts have developed these genetic modifications with the aim that they can resist the impacts of climate change and bring more various and green food systems as well. Increasing the diversity of crops, for example, by adding a new breeder strain, can reduce the risk of reliance on one crop, and eventually mitigate the related climate hazards. This could, in turn, provide for a more diversified and stronger diet for the people in the locality in turn leading to more availability of food, hence ensuring food security at the general level. Ensuring the acceptance of crop types, which are resistant to climate change, is one of the initial steps in the process of gaining food security amid changing climate.
