OBJECTIVE To analyze the influencing factors for pulmonary infections in patients with severe traumatic brain injury and explore prevention countermeasures.METHODS A total of 160patients with severe traumatic brain injury, who were treated in ICU from Jan 2011to Jun 2013,were enrolled in the study, then the clinical data of the enrolled subjects were retrospectively analyzed, the subjects were divided into the infection group and the non-infections group, the influencing factors for the pulmonary infections were analyzed, the corresponding countermeasures for prevention of complications were explored, and the statistical analysis was performed with the use of SPSS17.0software.RESULTS Of the 160patients enrolled in the study, the pulmonary infections occurred in 76 cases with the infectin rate of 47.5%.Totally 76strains of pathogens have been isolated from the patients with pulmonary infections, among which the gram-positive bacteria accounted for 23.69%,the gram-negative bacteria 71.05%,the fungi 5.26%.The analysis showed that the difference in the age, time of coma, time of use of antibiotics, underlying disease,or invasive operation between the two groups was significant(P0.05),and they are the risk factors for the pulmonary infections.CONCLUSIONThere are a variety of influencing factors for the pulmonary infections in the patients with severe traumatic brain injury. It is necessary for the hospital to formulate targeted prevention measures so as to reduce the incidence of the pulmonary infections.
