Effects of sucrose and maltose concentrations and their additional ingredients on culture of mature rice embryos

Effects of sucrose and maltose concentrations and their additional ingredients on culture of mature rice embryos were investigated,using four rice cultivars IR54,639,Jinnuo 2 and Teyou 63 as explants for mature embryos,and MS as basic medium.The rates of callus induction,callus differentiation and plant differentiation were highest when the total amount of maltose and sucrose was 60 g·L~(-1) and the proportion of maltose to sucrose was 1∶2.The combination of 0.5 mg·L~(-1) 2,4-D and 2 mg·L~(-1) KT was more efficient than other combinations.The inducing effects of calli varied among different rice genotypes in different media.
