A wire race ball bearing used in a certain three-axis stabilized platform was presented. The contact stress was obtained using the Hertz theory, and then a finite element model was established in Ansys to be simulated and analyzed by utilizing symmetry, which result shows after comparing and studying that when plastic deformation occurred between two contact bodies, the Ansys can get a more accurate result than Hertz. In addition, the ansys result shows that the maximum contact stress exists at the surface of the wire race, which effectively illustrates the reality that corrosive pitting always form at the wire race easily, which provides a theoretical basis for further experimental research about wire raceway pitting and attrition.
