Under nursery conditions, micropropagated oleander (Nerium oleander) plantlets were inoculated with Glomus intraradices and G. mosseae in three fertilization concentrations (0,1 and 3 g 1 - 1 of Osmocote® Mini). Both Glomus species colonized the oleander roots at the same percentage, but high-concentrations of fertilizer in G. intraradices inoculations significantly diminished the number of roots colonized. Mycorrhizated oleander plantlets showed higher vegetative growth than plants that had not been inoculated with the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, for same fertilizer concentrations.
