The effect of processing parameters on mechanical properties and hot tearing tendency of indirect squeeze casting Al-Cu based alloy has been studied in this paper,microstructure and properties of the alloy are analyzed.The experiment results show that mechanical properties of Al-Cu alloy can be influenced by varies of squeeze casting parameters obviously,and better properties of castings obtained by controlling the parameters: ultimate tensile strength is 240~260 MPa and elongation is 9%~11.5%.After T6 heat treatment ultimate tensile strength and elongation are 450~470 MPa and 8.0%~10.0% respectively.The effect of pouring temperature and mould temperature on hot tearing tendency is biggest,the second effect factor is hold-pressure time,and the influence of specific pressure on hot tearing tendency is the smallest.The castings have higher tearing tendency at lower mould temperature and lower hold-pressure time,while have the lowest tearing tendency at pouring temperature 750 ℃.
