Investigation on Welding Residual Stress Field of P92 Steel Pipe

The welding temperature fields were measured using a thermal infrared imaging viewer,and the variation of the welding residual stress in the welded joint of P92 pipe before and after postweld heat treatment(PHT) were measured by the X-rays diffraction methods.The finite element methods(FEM) has been used to calculate and analyze the weld temperature field of P92 steel pipe,and the calculation results have been verified by comparing with the actual welding temperature fields.Subsequently,the FE analysis has been implemented to compute the welding residual stress using the indirect method.The variation of the welding residual stress was analyzed and compared before and after the PHT,and the result show that the PHT can effectively relieve part of residual stress.
