Activated carbon coating electrodes were prepared by coating decomposition method.Electrochemical performance of the electrodes under different preparation conditions were investigated.Structure and surface properties of the electrodes were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),low temperature liquid nitrogen adsorption and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR).Cyclic voltammetry electrochemical performance of electrodes were tested by electrochemical workstation. It was shown that the activated carbon coating electrode prepared by using activated carbon with high surface area as the adsorption material, conductive carbon black as the conductive agent and polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF,142℃drying)as the binder(the mass ratio of 8∶1∶1)gives the largest specific capacitance value reaching 80F/g.This was much higher than the capacitance of other electrodes. Moreover, the electrode prepared under the best conditions also shows a good electrochemical stability,a higher electric double layer capacity and a strong adsorption performance.
