Clinical analysis of 42 cases with rotavirus enteritis and convulsion

Objective To study the clinical characteristics of rotavirus enteritis and convulsion. Methods Forty-two cases with infantile rotavirus enteritis in our hospital from July 2009 to August 2012 were the research object, then the clinical feature and experimental data of all the patients were retrospectively analyzed. Results The patients with convulsive seizures were not associated with fever or only lower fever, and they were without dehydration or with only mild dehydration, and they were no family history of epilepsy, 41 cases with rotavirus enteritis merger were with benign convulsion, 1 case was viral encephalitis, it was not found seizure during follow-up. Conclusion The rotavirus infection can cause central nervous system damage, it should be paid attention in the clinical work, but prognosis is good, and they are no significant sequelae.
