Application of the Electrochemical Water Purification Device for Removing Fluoride in Drinking Water

Based on the Faraday′s law and the principle of electrochemistry,a water-purification device is developed and the working parameters are studied.The Al~(3+) generated electrically from the water-purification device removes the fluoride ions in high fluoride water by precipitation.The fluoride-removal effectiveness by the device is verified by purification of the high fluoride water sample.The results show that after purification the fluoride ions in sample are reduced from 9.0 mg/L to less than 1.0 mg/L,which satisfies the sanitary standard for drinking water(GB 5749—85).
