Fracture is one of the most important factors for the performance of special lithological reservoirs. The identification and evaluation of fractures using conventional logs is an important research subject for geophysicists. The reservoir of lower Wuerhe formation, in the 8th district of the northwestern margin of Junggar Basin, features low porosity and permeability, where fracture is developed in multi-stages. According to the core data and the imaging logging data, deep-shallow laterolog and micro-laterolog curves are most sensitive to fracture, as compared with the acoustic, density and neutron logs. In this paper, a model to identify fracture in glutenite reservoir is proposed, and more than 800 wells are interpreted with that model. The production performance indicates that the interpretation results agree well with those obtained in injection adjusting.
