The ARF Side of the Fruit Tuning of Flesh Fruit Development and Ripening

Auxin response factor (ARF) plays important role throughout the growth and developmental stages of plants and participates in a large number of biological processes related to growth and development, such as embryonic development, leaf extension and senescence, lateral root growth, floral organ development and senescence, fruit development, seed development, and responses to external stresses. In this chapter, we discuss the versatile roles of ARF in flesh fruit development and ripening. Furthermore, it discusses the directions for future research on the mechanism of ARFs to improve food and fruit crop quality.
