摘要
In this paper, a low-power and rail-to-rail StrongARM comparator is proposed. A novel preamplifier stage which supports rail-to-rail common-mode input voltage (CMIV) is added to the conventional StrongARM. Furthermore, the proposed preamplifier also saves static power by using the existing clock gating and power gating from conventional StrongARM comparator. It saves 63.3 % more power than state-of-the-art design. The resolution of the comparator is below 10$\mu V$and the CMIV varies from$0 V$to$V_{D D}$. The design is scalable and ready to be used in data converters.
