These findings underscore the mechanistic role of dihydrotestosterone in gut microbiota-mediated sex-specific blood pressure regulation and suggest that targeting the gut microbiota-treatment with trimethylamine N-oxide pathway may provide new therapeutic strategies for male hypertension.
