摘要
The wearing of rigid lenses can result in changes to corneal curvature and the planned, temporary reduction of myopia by wearing flat-fitting rigid lenses (termed orthokeratology) was first reported in the 1960’s [1]. In the late 1970’s and early 1980’s, several studies evaluated this concept and concluded that the reduction in myopia was relatively short-lived, unpredictable, inconsistent and limited to only a low degree of myopia; as such, orthokeratology was largely ignored at this time [2–4].
